That's how it used to be
OUR BÜRGERBRÄU BREWERY CAN BE TRACED BACK TO THE YEAR 1494.
EVEN BACK THEN, THE BEERS SERVED HERE WERE BREWED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE “REICHENHALL PURITY LAW” ISSUED BY THE REICHENHALL COUNCILLORS THE YEAR BEFORE.
During the devastating town fire of Reichenhall on the night of 8. To the November 9, 1834, the brewery inn burned down completely. It was rebuilt on the same site just two years later.
In 1901, the councilor of commerce August Röhm, the great-grandfather of the brewer Christoph Graschberger, bought the “Graßlbräu” and gave it its current name BÜRGERBRÄU. In 1925, a fundamental renovation followed. Unfortunately, the inn was then badly damaged by Allied bombing during the Second World War and had to be extensively renovated again.
Local craftsmen created a place dedicated to the “beer saint” Gambrinus with cozy guest lounges. On the upper floors, modern, spacious hotel rooms were created in 1990, in whose friendly ambience you will certainly feel at home.
In 1901, Kommerzienrat August Röhm, the great-grandfather of today’s brewer, bought the “Graßlbräu” brewery and gave it the name BÜRGERBRÄU. Today, Markus Graschberger is the fifth generation to run the brewery together with his father, Christoph Graschberger.
